End of Year Look

I predict this to be my last post of the year and I’m feeling a little melancholy about the year that’s past, but optimistic about the year yet to come. It’s been a little crazy and I’m not going to be sorry to see it behind me.

Tonight I’m feeling snuggly in a nice warm cardigan from CheerNo in pink. I love jeans, but there has to be something special about them to get me to part with Lindens. These from Gbbrish with the tiger on make me happy.

I hung out at The Velvet tonight to listen to Lux Yao, Astrud Sands, and Niko Lyle playing their top songs of 2009. My free tousled hair from booN and House of Curios glasses made me feel quite indie indeed as I brooded on a stained old couch.

Just a quick look…

This is a quickly thrown together look that’s very Theodore. I’m rarely seen without my fedora irl, and I love purple and green together. It’s not for everyone, but if you can pull it off, my compliments to you. It’s definitely an attention getter.

Luminous

The past couple of days have brought to our attention a truly amazing gem of a skin shop. It’s Japanese, and it seems that few have discovered it yet… Beanie Canning posted about it, and I went to check it out with Draco, and wow. We’ve stalked the lucky chair for two days now trying to win the skin I’m showing in this post. It was worth it, and that’s saying a lot. Along with this luminous, beautiful bishounen-type skin, I’m showing a layered warm look to greet September. Click photos to view full size.

This is a look that I pulled together a while back and never got around to sharing. It’s not my usual style, but D wanted me to wear this shirt, and he always gets what he wants. The top is the chess top in green from eXceSs, which if you don’t know already is a shop specializing in androgynous skins, hair, and clothing. I really like this shirt, actually. I wasn’t sure if I would. It comes with matching gloves, but as I don’t like being too matchy, I swapped those for…

the Finga-less Gloves from Sn@tch in green knit. They’re very cool and have well-executed dark green nail polish.

The hair with cap is My Agenda in chocolate from Aitui. I didn’t like the color the hair originally came in — very few people make a brown that’s dark enough for me — so I tinted it.

I have on the antique brand jeans 202 from Random… I actually tried on all the jeans I own before D settled on these as the best with the look. They’re a dark indigo wash with a rusty tint, one of my favorite pairs. These are my working-in-the-garden jeans. I actually own a bunch of stuff from this shop, but I don’t wear the tops often because they’re not layerable. Their stuff looks great, though, and you should check them out.

The belt is from Reek, and everyone should have it by now because it’s a must. Belts are something that really does need to be color change scripted because it is SUCH a pain in the ass to fit them. My avatar has a couture shape, which is to say very narrow through the waist and hips, but I also have a rather curvy ass, so belts rarely fit right, and resize scripting isn’t going to cut it. I need a modifiable belt. And once I get that belt to look (more or less) right… It’s so much better if it’s a belt that will work with every outfit I own because it changes texture.

The sneakers are Bolt by HOC, which are probably the best buy in sneakers ever. They’re texture change and I’m using the black and white but they’re also mod (YAY) and I tinted them with dark grey to blend with my outfit a little better.
